Introducing James Spence

James Spence is a Wealth Manager at NEBA Private Clients, based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, where he has worked in private wealth management for over 15 years. He holds the CISI Level 4 Diploma in Investment Advice (Financial Planning and Advice) and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (ACSI).

Before entering financial services, James spent 12 years in Explosive Ordnance Disposal, an experience he credits with shaping the precision and risk-management discipline he now brings to wealth structuring. He began his financial career with Globaleye in Abu Dhabi in 2011, later becoming part of TEAM plc, listed on the London Stock Exchange, progressing from Senior Wealth Manager to Vice President before his current role. He also co-founded Libra Project Asset Management, a venture focused on funding and tokenising renewable energy projects across emerging Asia and Africa.

James specialises in advising private clients, family offices and law firms on cross-border tax structuring, estate and wealth transition planning, insurance, and fee-based financial planning, with a particular focus on advice that is independent of commission-driven product sales. He was named Investment Advisor of the Year by Fidelity in 2016 and Personal Lines Broker of the Year at the MENA Insurance Awards in 2012, among other industry honours, and has received a number of client recommendations praising his transparency and long-term, relationship-focused approach.

Outside of work, James is a keen marathon runner, having completed 21 London Marathons, often in fancy dress for charity. He is also an impact investor and an active member of the Abu Dhabi Dramatics Society.
